Cheifly receipts reflecting Price's duties as treasurer of Wateree Lodge, an African American Masonic Order and benevolent mutual aid society in Camden, S.C.; includes receipts documenting payments to members for sick benefits, and dues paid to the Palmetto Grand Lodge in Orangeburg, S.C. Other items include papers re Second Presbyterian Church, "We need 200 dollars ... to paint and furnish our new church ...," signed by Pastor F.J. Anderson, and a receipt for coal for the church, 16 Dec. 1907. Items re Price's farming arrangements include printed contract, "agricultural lease and lien," 23 Jan. 1880, in which Price agrees to pay one 500-pound bale of cotton to Jonathan Page as rent for 5 acres known as "Magazine lot"; 1898 tax receipt for real and personal property; and bill of sale, 24 Oct. 1907, Richard Price to W.F. Russell, for "one Bale of Lint Cotton." Printed materials include clipping from [Nashville Banner?], Aug. 1912, re correspondence between Julian Harris and Theodore Roosevelt discussing African American participation in the National Progressive Party; booklet, Castles in the Air, published by American Medical Institute, promoting sale of patent medicines promising to treat masturbation, gonorrhea, syphilis, and other problems.
